Witnessing To Angry Unbelievers

Proverbs 15:1: A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

A soft answer does not have to be a weak or a false answer. A soft glove can have a hard fist in it and a soft answer can have spiritual power in it.

The next time someone becomes angry at you as you witness to them you might try one of these soft answers: I would like for you to get to heaven. Is there anything wrong with that? or I would like to know that you are going to heaven. Is there anything wrong with that? or I would like for you to know that you are going to heaven. Is there anything wrong with that? If the Lord provides you with better soft answers, I would love to hear or read what they are.

Romans 12:21: Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

That passage is a command. The unbeliever*s anger is evil and we are commanded not to be overcome by it. We are also commanded to give good answers. God*s command to overcome evil with good will be easier to obey when we remember that soft answers can be good and His promise that they will successfully turn away wrath.

If you try to fight fire with fire you will have two fires or one bigger one.
